The FBWA Masters League epitomizes inclusivity and vitality, offering a dynamic footballing platform tailored for individuals aged 35 and above. More than a competition for goals and victories, this spirited tournament champions a noble cause: encouraging senior members of the community to embrace physical activity, promote fitness, and nurture overall well-being. Inaugurated in 2020, the Masters League owes its genesis to the visionary leadership of esteemed community figures such as Mr. Namgay la, Mr. Sonam Dorji, Mr. Jigme Jamtsho, Mr. Yeshey and Dr. Loday. Their foresight and collaborative spirit have reshaped the landscape of senior football, providing a platform for individuals to rediscover their passion for the sport and cultivate lasting bonds within the community.
What commenced with 13 eager teams in its maiden season has blossomed into a vibrant competition, now boasting 24 spirited and competitive teams. Evergreen FC, guided by community favorites Sangay Dhendup and Deeps Bro, etched their name into Bhutanese footballing lore in Perth by clinching the championship in the league's inaugural year. Their subsequent three consecutive titles cemented their legacy as icons within the league, inspiring generations to follow in their footsteps.
Today, Phojas FC proudly upholds the mantle of reigning champions, under the adept leadership of Mr. Namgay and Mr. Puran Gurung. As custodians of the league's tradition of excellence, they embody the spirit of determination and sportsmanship that defines the FBWA Masters League.
